What will I be doing day-to-day?
Reporting to the Product Manager, the Senior Business Analyst is responsible for leading structured requirements discovery and functional design across the DRAMS platform, ensuring solutions are clearly defined, development-ready, and aligned with product objectives. Beyond feature delivery, the role provides deep functional expertise to the wider DRAMS team, supporting product queries, validating proposed improvements, and ensuring consistent product understanding across stakeholders. The role also contributes to the continuous improvement of analysis practices, helping ensure requirements are delivered consistently and effectively across the DRAMS product team.
This is a high-impact role suited to someone with strong analytical discipline, a structured approach to problem solving, and the ability to collaborate effectively across Product, Development, and Test to deliver measurable product outcomes.
Main duties include but are not limited to:
- Lead requirements discovery and structured analysis for standard and complex system changes, translating business needs into clear functional system behaviours, workflows, and solution designs.
- Produce high-quality BRDs and FRDs aligned to Product standards, ensuring requirements and acceptance criteria are complete, validated, and development-ready.
- Analyse existing system behaviour, configuration, data structures, and system integrations to support accurate requirements definition and complex gap analysis.
- Produce wireframes or workflow prototypes where required to clarify user interactions and support solution design discussions.
- Lead feature-level UX reviews to validate workflows, identify inefficiencies, and refine proposed solutions.
- Plan and estimate analysis activities for system changes, balancing depth of discovery with delivery timelines and commercial constraints.
- Work closely with Development and Test teams throughout delivery to clarify requirements, resolve functional queries, and ensure solutions align with intended design.
Customer and Product Discovery
- Capture and synthesise customer feedback into clear problem statements and structured improvement proposals.
- Validate proposed solutions with customers and stakeholders where appropriate.
- Support the Product Manager in discovery and definition of larger initiatives, including new modules, workflow improvements, and significant enhancements.
Product Expertise & Enablement
- Develop and maintain deep functional knowledge of DRAMS modules, workflows, and configuration patterns.
- Share product knowledge across the team through internal briefings, documentation, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Analysis Standards and Mentoring
- Champion consistent requirements documentation standards, templates, and analysis practices across the product team.
- Mentor and support team members in structured requirements discovery and analysis best practice.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of analysis processes to improve delivery efficiency and reduce ambiguity.
What do I need to be eligible to apply?
Essential
- 5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst within a software product environment.
- Experience working with complex software products (e.g. ERP, enterprise, or operational systems).
- Proven ability to engage and communicate with stakeholders at all levels of an organisation, translating between business and technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of requirements through discovery, design, and delivery.
- Experience translating requirements into structured solution design and functional workflows.
- Experience analysing and documenting system interfaces and integration requirements.
- Experience mentoring or supporting team members in requirements gathering and analysis best practice.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document and communicate functional requirements.
- Experience collaborating with Development and Test teams within Agile delivery environments.
Desirable
- Business Analysis certification (e.g. BCS, IIBA, or equivalent).
- Experience producing interactive wireframes or prototypes using tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or similar.
- Experience using AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Co-Pilot) to support business analysis activities such as documentation, data analysis, and process improvement.
- Knowledge of the distilled spirits industry considered advantageous.
