Location: Teesside

Working pattern: Alternating weekly early and late shifts, 40 hours per week, onsite.

The Role

We are recruiting for a Licensed Aircraft Engineer (B1) to join our Fleet Maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out the maintenance and repair of aircraft and associated equipment as directed, while effectively managing allocated resources to ensure operational efficiency. You will also provide supervision and guidance to engineers as required, supporting the safe and compliant delivery of all maintenance activities. A strong awareness of, and adherence to, all regulatory requirements and Health & Safety procedures is essential to succeed in this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and certify maintenance tasks within company authorisation, ensuring accurate completion of technical logs and work cards.
  • Carry out scheduled/unscheduled maintenance, defect rectification, modifications, and service bulletin actions as directed.
  • Ensure compliance with all approved maintenance documentation, company procedures, and SHE requirements.
  • Complete work cards promptly and record any additional defects accurately.
  • Immediately report critical defects to the SLAE and work with the supervisor to develop solutions.
  • Take responsibility for assigned aircraft and components, including work at detached locations when required.
  • Liaise with relevant departments to support timely task completion.
  • Work within budget limits and raise any potential financial risks.
  • Safely manage aircraft ground movements as assigned by the SLAE.
  • Deputise for the SLAE when necessary.
  • Conduct and supervise safety checks before and during maintenance, especially during functional tests.
  • Support supervisors and managers in improving working practices and team development.
  • Assist with monitoring staff performance, including attendance, timekeeping, and sickness.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and well‑organised working areas.
  • Ensure all tooling is correctly controlled, calibrated, and compliant with procedures.
  • Promote a strong “Just Culture” and encourage safety reporting.
  • Perform any additional tasks appropriate to the LAE role and as directed by the supervisor.

Experience / Skills / Qualifications

Educational Vocational Qualifications

  • EASA Part 66 Aircraft Maintenance Licence Category B1.
  • Completed approved apprenticeship or equivalent training.
  • Computer literate (Aero‑Trac experience preferred).
  • Falcon 20 (CF700) Type Rating.
  • Falcon 20‑5 (Honeywell TFE731) Type Rating (preferred).
  • EASA Part 66 Licence Category C (preferred).
  • No licence restrictions.
  • Strong working knowledge of regulatory standards including Part 145, Part 21, Part CAMO, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 27001.

Personal Skills/Abilities

  • Self‑starter with strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach.
  • Committed to delivering excellent customer service while representing company interests.
  • Enjoys working collaboratively within a small, close‑knit team.
  • Able to work safely while meeting required delivery schedules.
  • Motivated to develop further, including cross‑training with the ambition to extend licence privileges (e.g., B2 certification).
  • Willing to work flexible hours, participate in aircraft recoveries, and deploy at short notice when required.
  • Falcon 20 type rating.
  • Previous experience acting as a certifying engineer in a line maintenance environment; base maintenance experience preferred.
  • Experience working on pressurised twin‑engine turbine or turboprop aircraft above 5,700kg.
  • Proven recent supervisory experience with a strong record of delivering results.
  • Strong leadership and motivational abilities.
  • Commercial awareness, with experience working to tight deadlines and budget constraints.
