The Role
This role would suit someone looking to take their career to the next level. Draken is offering a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate, with funded training toward the attainment of a UK CAA Part 66 B1.1 Licence. This opportunity is ideal for an engineer who is either at the beginning of, or part‑way through, their journey toward obtaining their licence. Please note that training will be subject to a bonding agreement.
As a Licensed Aircraft Engineer (LAE), you will support the Crew Chief and be responsible to the Chief Engineer for the safety, regulatory compliance, and operational performance of all Part‑145/A8‑23 aircraft maintenance activities. This includes both main base operations and detached locations, ensuring the effective delivery of customer contractual requirements. You will also contribute to engineering decisions, mentor team members, and promote a culture of continuous improvement and safety‑first.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across all maintenance activities.
- Certify aircraft maintenance and supervise ground movements.
- Support aircraft operations at base and detached locations (UK & overseas).
- Maintain accurate and timely aircraft documentation.
- Coordinate engineering tasks to meet targets and budgets.
- Deputise for the Crew Chief when required.
- Promote SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) and Security standards.
- Drive continuous improvement and uphold company values.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance.
- Proven ability to supervise and motivate engineering teams.
- Medically fit and willing to work shifts and travel for detachments.
- Eligible for UK Security Clearance and ITAR compliance.
