This specialist residential service provides high-quality care and support for adults with mental health conditions, learning disabilities, autism, complex needs, and behaviours that challenge. The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and compassionate Registered Manager to lead a dedicated care team within a specialist residential setting. You will hold full responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of the service, ensuring safe, effective and person-centred care, strong governance, and full compliance with CQC and safeguarding standards. This role would also suit a highly capable Deputy Manager ready to step up into a Registered Manager position.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strong, visible leadership, fostering a positive, values-led and empowering culture.
- Ensure the service is safe, responsive, effective and well-led in line with CQC expectations.
- Oversee person-centred care planning, risk management and positive behaviour support.
- Recruit, develop and retain a skilled and motivated workforce, leading on supervision, training and performance management.
- Maintain robust governance processes, including audits, incident management and continuous improvement plans.
- Build effective working relationships with families, commissioners, social workers and multi-disciplinary professionals.
- Manage resources and budgets responsibly, supporting service sustainability and quality outcomes.
What You'll Need
- Proven experience as a Registered Manager, or significant experience as a Deputy Manager ready to progress.
- Background in mental health, learning disability, autism and/or complex needs services.
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding and quality assurance frameworks.
- A recognised management qualification (e.g. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care) or willingness to work towards this.
- A calm, confident and compassionate leadership style with excellent communication skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and lead continuous service improvement.
- A genuine commitment to person-centred, recovery-focused and outcomes-led care.
