Permanent Position | South East England

Our client is seeking a passionate Consultant in Stroke Medicine to become part of their leading stroke service. You’ll be joining a progressive, collaborative team at a centre of excellence recognised for its state‑of‑the‑art Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (HASU) and commitment to world‑class patient outcomes.

What you’ll do…

  • Deliver consultant‑led acute stroke care: front door referrals, HASU and ASU ward rounds, and structured handovers
  • Lead and participate in daily TIA and stroke follow‑up clinics
  • Contribute to a 1:14 regional out‑of‑hours on‑call rota (telemedicine‑based) and 1:7 weekend HASU ward rounds
  • Take an active role in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, goal‑setting, and complex case management
  • Supervise, teach, and mentor junior doctors, medical students, and allied health professionals
  • Engage in quality improvement projects, clinical audit, and research (with opportunities for Principal Investigator roles)
  • Collaborate with other consultants, managers, and Trust leadership to develop and implement innovative stroke pathways

What you’ll bring…

  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
  • Inclusion on the Specialist Register (or within 6 months of CCT at the time of interview)
  • Relevant clinical experience in stroke medicine and acute care
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills

  • Enthusiasm for service development, education, and multidisciplinary teamwork
