About the Role
As the Product Compliance Specialist, you’ll take full ownership of UK and EU product compliance across a varied and expanding product portfolio. You will act as the in‑house authority for all compliance, product safety, and QA‑related matters, ensuring every product is safe, compliant, and market‑ready. You will work closely with Buying, Product, and Operations teams to integrate compliance from the earliest stages of product development, championing robust processes and helping build a best‑in‑class compliance framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead UK and EU product compliance activities across diverse product categories
- Identify relevant legislation and standards (GPSR, UKCA/CE, LVD, EMC, RoHS, REACH)
- Create, review, and maintain Technical Documentation and Declarations of Conformity
- Assess supplier documents and test reports, identifying gaps and recommending additional testing
- Verify accuracy of product labelling, warnings, and user instructions
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain, validate, and manage compliance documentation
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance is embedded in product development
- Support enquiries from regulatory bodies, marketplaces, and external partners
- Maintain organised, accurate compliance records and drive continuous process improvement
- Advocate for QA best practices—ensuring consistency, accuracy, and proactive risk management
Skills & Experience We’re Looking For
- Experience in product compliance, product safety, QA, or regulatory roles
- Strong knowledge of UK & EU product safety legislation and CE/UKCA requirements
- Proven ability to prepare and audit Technical Files, DoCs, and supplier documentation
- Confident communicator able to challenge suppliers constructively
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple product lines
- Process‑driven mindset with a practical, solution‑oriented approach
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines
- Clear, professional communication skills—written and verbal
- Proactive, analytical, and comfortable owning your area of responsibility
Working Hours & Location
- 37.5 hours per week
- Flexible start times: 8:00am–9:30am, with corresponding finish times
- 30–60 minute lunch break
- Role is fully on‑site at modern offices near York
- Due to the location, own transport is essential
