Well-established, private-equity backed, mid-to-large-cap UK business with significant scale and operational complexity.

Our client is a well-established, private-equity backed, mid-to-large-cap UK business with significant scale and operational complexity. The organisation is going through a period of change and transformation and is looking for an experienced Group Financial Controller to join on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract.

This is a senior, high-visibility leadership role reporting into the Group CFO, with responsibility for the financial control and reporting framework across the Group during an important period of change.

The Role

  • Own and evolve the Group's financial control framework, ensuring policies and controls remain robust and fit for a large, complex organisation
  • Lead Group accounting, consolidation, and statutory reporting, acting as senior escalation point for complex accounting and control matters
  • Oversee transactional finance functions, driving process improvement and efficiency
  • Own change control for accounting policies and the wider financial risk and controls framework
  • Support due diligence activity linked to corporate transactions
  • Coordinate internal and external audit and year-end reporting processes
  • Present financial reporting and updates to senior stakeholders, including the Board and investors
  • Lead and develop a team of senior finance managers within the financial control function

About You

  • Significant, senior-level experience leading financial control, reporting, or finance operations within a large or complex organisation
  • Strong technical accounting, governance, and financial controls expertise
  • Track record overseeing statutory reporting, audit, and compliance
  • Comfortable working with institutional or private capital ownership structures
  • Experience with a major finance/ERP system
  • Background in a business services, infrastructure, or energy-related environment would suit this role well
  • Desirable: exposure to corporate transaction due diligence, shared service environments, and non-financial/ESG reporting

Why Apply

This is a great opportunity to take on a business-critical financial control leadership role within a substantial, well-backed organisation at an important point in its development. You'll have real influence over the control environment and reporting standards of a large Group, with direct exposure to the Board, the Audit Committee and the investor community.
