PE-backed, high-growth Business Services Group in Essex is looking to appoint a Financial Controller to bolster its Group Finance capability during a period of change, investment, professionalisation and process enhancement.
Reporting to the Group Finance Director, this role will take ownership of core group reporting, compliance, and process improvement activities, helping to strengthen a developing, multi-entity finance environment.
Key Responsibilities- Group Reporting & Consolidation
- Deliver the monthly group consolidation, including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow.
- Support the Group FC in monthly balance sheet reviews, ensuring integrity and accuracy across entities.
- Prepare subsidiary statutory accounts and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
- Maintain and oversee the Group Fixed Asset Register, including additions, disposals and depreciation review.
- Produce bank covenant reporting and support lender information requests.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns (UK & Ireland).
- Support the delivery of the annual audit, coordinating with external auditors and ensure timely preparation of audit files.
- Work closely with the Group FD to map, streamline and elevate group finance processes in line with a best-in-class finance function.
- Contribute to improvements in financial systems and reporting frameworks, with a focus on control, efficiency and data quality.
- Qualified Accountant with strong technical finance or Group Reporting experience, ideally within multi-entity or PE-backed environments.
- Proven experience in consolidations, statutory reporting, audit preparation and balance sheet control.
- Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics 365 desirable.
- Ability to operate at pace, take ownership and enhance processes.
