Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site HGV Driver role based in Guildford. The HGV Driver will be responsible for safely operating company vehicles to and from job sites, transporting equipment, materials, and waste related to drainage works. Daily tasks include performing pre- and post-trip vehicle checks, loading and unloading equipment, and ensuring all items are secured and handled safely. The role involves working closely with drainage teams on-site, following instructions for positioning vehicles and supporting operational tasks as needed. The HGV Driver will also be expected to complete required documentation, adhere to all road safety and company policies, and maintain a clean and well-presented vehicle.

Qualifications

  • Valid HGV license (e.g., CDL Class A or UK equivalent) and proven Truck Driving experience with heavy vehicles.
  • Strong understanding of DOT Regulations or equivalent UK/transport compliance standards and safe road practices.
  • Experience with safe loading, securing, and Unloading of equipment and materials from a Truck or similar heavy vehicle.
  • Clean driving record, strong awareness of health and safety, and commitment to a safety-first approach on the road and on-site.
  • Ability to read and follow job instructions, complete basic paperwork, and communicate clearly with site teams and supervisors.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work full time with flexibility for occasional early starts, late finishes, or overtime as required.
  • Previous experience in drainage, utilities, construction, or a related field is beneficial but not essential; training will be provided.
