DASA specialises in managing claims related to Damage to Underground Services, including drainage and water mains. DASA’s Main Water Engineers are specialists in investigating and resolving incidents involving damage to underground services, with a primary focus on drainage and water mains. In this role, you’ll be responsible for attending site visits, assessing the extent and cause of damage, and carrying out or coordinating necessary repairs. A strong understanding of underground infrastructure, health and safety standards, and compliance with GDPR is essential, alongside a commitment to delivering high-quality service to our customers. Applicants must have a clean driving license, a clean DBS, and be able to work away from home for extended periods of time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently investigating and repairing external water supplies to domestic and commercial properties.
  • Accurately identifying leak locations and determining ownership and liability for repair works.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools for excavation, pipefitting, and other tasks.
  • Providing clear, reassuring communication to customers, explaining the work required and the process.
  • Maintaining consistent and proactive communication with our Field Operations Team at HQ.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Leak detection techniques, including use of listening sticks, ground microphones, or other acoustic equipment.
  • Experience with find & fix water supply repairs.
  • Familiarity with trenchless pipe installation (moling) – desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to create new points of entry for water supplies into buildings.
  • Skilled in using a CAT scanner to identify underground service pipes and cables.
  • Proficiency in reinstating surfaces to a high standard, including paving slabs, block paving, cold lay tarmac, and concrete.
