About Draig Therapeutics
Draig Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biotechnology company based in Cardiff, UK, focused on developing innovative small molecule therapies to transform the treatment of depression and neurological disorders. Founded in 2021 through a collaboration between Cardiff University and SV Health Investors, and supported by $140 million in Series A funding, Draig is advancing its lead candidate, DT-101, into Phase 2 clinical trials, with two additional candidates entering early-stage development in 2026.
Position Summary
The Development Operations Manager is a key member of Draig’s project delivery team, playing a central role in enabling progress across R&D functions - quality, clinical, non-clinical, regulatory, and CMC . This role ensures that documentation, systems, and internal processes are well organised, compliant, and aligned—providing essential operational support that allows project teams to focus on scientific and clinical execution.
Reporting to the Head of Development Operations and managing a Project Administrator, the coordinator maintains the structure and flow of information across teams and external partners. This is a hands-on, detail-focused role that helps drive momentum across Draig’s development programmes and contributes directly to the success of project milestones.
Key Responsibilities
R&D-Focused Operational Support
- Track and Coordinate contract lifecycles (NDAs, MSAs, SoWs) related to R&D, including CMC, clinical, preclinical, regulatory and vendor partnerships.
- Develop and manage shared digital workspaces and controlled documentation structures for R&D including SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams. Maintain document control workflows across ensuring secure and structured collaboration with support from the IT team
- Support R&D teams with operational readiness by tracking deliverables, versioning key documents, and aligning timelines.
- Collaborate with functional leads to align internal filing systems with applicable regulatory expectations.
- Maintain document trackers and operational dashboards to support programme visibility and audit readiness as required.
- Identification and set up of new systems to support R&D activities as required to facilitate ongoing improvement of development capabilities.
- Act as a central operational contact between R&D functions - Development Operations, Clinical, CMC, and Regulatory teams.
- Track key actions and inputs across partner engagements (e.g., CROs, consultants, CDMOs), ensuring alignment on deliverables.
- Contribute to preparation of documentation packages for governance meetings, audits, or regulatory submissions.
- Provide support to the R&D team with financial management of contracts including invoice tracking.
- Responsibility as nominated Archivist including managing external eArchive.
- Coordinate interactions between DPO and R&D.
Team Oversight
- Supervise and support the Development Operations Project Administrator, delegating routine administrative tasks such as meeting logistics and document formatting.
- Ensure consistency and compliance across project tracking and document handling standards.
- Provide mentorship and prioritisation guidance as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in life sciences, operations, or related disciplines.
- Experience in an operations or coordination role, preferably within biotech, pharma, or clinical-stage R&D environments.
- Experience in clinical-stage R&D documentation, quality requirements and processes.
- Familiarity in assessment, contracting and onboarding processes of R&D Pharma vendors.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 tools, especially SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Excel.
- Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior colleagues.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with early-stage clinical development, quality requirements and vendor contract coordination.
- Experience in development/management/administration of electronic documentation systems with a particular focus on non-expert SharePoint administration
- Experience working within regulated environments (GCP, GMP) and familiarity with pharma development documentation.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, scaling biotech environment with evolving processes.
