We're looking for a Food & Beverage Assistant that brings energy, curiosity and a can‐do spirit. Someone who loves the buzz of service and the joy of making someone's day. The Dragonfly Hotel Colchester offers a welcoming and supportive environment to work, set in a great location just minutes from Colchester's historic city centre and surrounded by the beautiful Essex countryside. With 50 well‐equipped rooms, the hotel provides a modern yet relaxed setting, where attention to detail and great service are at the heart of everything we do.

How you'll bring the magic to the floor as our Food & Beverage Assistant:

  • Has a positive, can‐do attitude towards customers and other team members.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for learning about all things food and drink — including spirits, wines, cocktails, and delivering the 'perfect serve'.
  • A willingness to understand different food styles and service standards, learn the menus, and confidently explain dishes to customers.
  • Strong communication skills and enjoyment of interacting with guests in a lively, fast‐paced environment.
  • The ability to deliver great service — taking orders, serving food and drink, processing payments, and ensuring every guest has an excellent experience.
  • Commitment to meeting site service standards and working effectively as part of the team.
  • A developing or good understanding of preparing coffees and serving alcohol and wine in both bar and restaurant settings.
  • Availability to work opening and closing shifts, including weekends and bank holidays on a pro‐rata basis.
  • A willingness to continue your development through in‐house and external training sessions.
