Who We Are: DragonBet is a fast-growing, independent challenger brand in the UK betting market, with a successful recent launch in Ireland and ambitious plans to expand further across regulated markets. We offer a high-quality sportsbook alongside top-tier casino games, built to compete in highly regulated and competitive environments. Founded by second-generation bookmakers, DragonBet combines decades of real-world betting expertise with modern, digital-first execution. Licensed by the UK Gambling Commission, our approach is defined by discipline, commercial intelligence and a strong commitment to integrity and responsible gambling. We focus on building long-term customer value, not short-term wins and delivering a safe, fair and enjoyable experience for every customer.

About the Role: We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our growing finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone starting their finance career or looking to build on existing experience within a dynamic and supportive environment. You will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, supporting the CFO with routine operations and contributing to strategic initiatives across multiple entities. As the first in-house finance hire following reliance on external accountants, this role is pivotal in establishing robust financial processes and controls that drive organisational growth and efficiency.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Accurately process supplier invoices and ensure they are approved and recorded on schedule.
  • Maintain and reconcile the purchase ledger weekly to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Address and resolve any supplier queries or discrepancies promptly.
  • Organise and execute weekly payments for suppliers and staff expenses.
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations to keep accounts accurate and up to date.
  • Assist in preparing monthly management accounts across multiple business entities.
  • Support the preparation of journal entries, including accruals and prepayments.
  • Help analyse variances in financial data and contribute to management reporting.
  • Monitor daily cash positions and assist in forecasting future cash requirements.
  • Support the review and analysis of commercial contracts to ensure financial terms are accurately reflected and potential risks are identified.
  • Assist with audits, budgeting and other finance-related projects as required.
  • Provide general financial support to the CFO, contributing to both routine operations and strategic initiatives.
  • Suggest and help implement improvements to financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the business to support wider operational needs.

What We're Looking For:

  • Early-career professionals with a genuine commitment to a long-term career in accounting and finance (A-Level or degree qualified preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy with numbers.
  • Some experience in finance, accounting or using accounting software would be preferred (Xero experience is a plus).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyse and work with financial data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks, systems and entities simultaneously.
  • A proactive problem-solver with strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-growing, dynamic business environment.
  • Able to work onsite in our Cardiff office (hybrid working available with minimum 4 days per week in the office).

What We Offer:

  • A chance to build a career in a fast-paced, exciting industry.
  • Direct exposure to the CFO and CEO from day one, working closely with senior leadership and gaining invaluable insight.
  • Full training, career and qualification support offered to help you grow.
  • Competitive salary.
  • 25 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays, increasing with length of service.
  • A supportive, international team culture.
  • Regular team events, staff perks and a dynamic office atmosphere.
