About us
Dragon WiFi is a Pembrokeshire-based connectivity and technology company. We've been trading for over a decade and serve more than 3,500 customers across Wales and the South West, delivering fibre and wireless broadband, leased lines, CCTV, VoIP, IT support and IoT solutions. Our clients range from holiday parks and rural businesses to public sector organisations including the Welsh Government, Local Authorities and Transport for Wales.
We're an experienced team of 11. The business is profitable and growing, and owing to an internal promotion, we're looking for an experienced Operations Manager to take ownership of our day-to-day operations.
The role
Reporting to the Company Director and Director of Sales, you'll run the day-to-day operations of the business — keeping the team, the schedule and the projects moving, and making sure our processes work as they should. You'll be the person the team comes to for decisions, and the point of ownership when something needs to get done.
This is a hands‑on role in a fast-moving, 24/7 industry. We're looking for someone organised, calm under pressure, and confident leading a team.
Key responsibilities
- Line-manage a team of around 11 across office, field engineering and support
- Plan and coordinate the weekly schedule, balancing capacity, deadlines and travel
- Manage day-to-day HR — onboarding, contracts, holiday and absence, 1-to-1s and performance
- Oversee business administration and compliance, including supplier admin, insurance and vehicle records
- Track projects from quote to completion, flagging risks and delays early
- Act as the escalation point for customer issues requiring clear ownership
- Identify and improve operational inefficiencies
- Report weekly to the Director on capacity, project status and operational risk
What we're looking for
Essential
- Proven experience managing or coordinating a team
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities
- Confident, fair people management
- Comfortable learning and working with operational software
- Full UK driving licence
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable
- Experience in telecoms, ISP, field services or a similar trade
- Familiarity with CRM, dispatch or PSA platforms
- Awareness of Health & Safety in field operations
- Welsh language skills
