We are seeking an enthusiastic, team‑orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Dragon Vets on a 15‑month fixed‑term, full‑time basis. Dragon Vets is a well‑established and busy small animal practice based in the heart of Cheltenham, operating from a central hospital alongside four satellite branches. With decades of history and a large, loyal client base, we offer a varied and interesting caseload, supported by modern facilities and advanced equipment including CT, digital radiography, endoscopy, and high‑end Doppler ultrasonography.
Our experienced and collaborative team includes 20 Veterinary Surgeons, with certificate holders in small animal surgery, cardiology, and medicine, alongside a strong nursing team of 15 RVNs and 4 Student Nurses. This allows us to manage a wide range of complex cases in‑house, offering an excellent environment for learning and development.

How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high‑quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences. You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first‑opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice. This is a varied role where you will work across all five branches, supporting both medical and surgical patients. You will be involved in perioperative care, anaesthesia, inpatient nursing, nurse consultations, and supporting patients throughout their journey from admission to discharge.
This is a fixed‑term role working 37.25 hours per week on a rota basis, with shifts between 8:00 am and 7:00 pm. There is a 1 in 4 Saturday morning rota (8:00 am‑1:00 pm).
General responsibilities include:
- Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied and complex caseload
- Support surgical procedures, including anaesthesia monitoring and perioperative care
- Provide excellent inpatient care and support patient recovery
- Run nurse consultations and deliver outstanding client care
