Our client is a market-leading technology company with business segments in both the UK and Europe. As a result of planned growth at this exciting stage of the company’s development, an outstanding opportunity has been newly created in the relatively small, but growing finance team. As Senior Financial Analyst, reporting to and working with the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis, you will be the bridge between our financial data, systems and commercial operations, contributing to our core FP&A objectives including budgeting & forecasting, commercial support and the continuous improvement of our systems, data and finance processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead the production of monthly FP&A reporting, analyse variances, challenge cost efficiencies and ultimately deliver quality insights to the Senior Leadership Team.
- Partner with Sales & Marketing teams to support commercial decision making and provide quality financial modelling to evaluate new business opportunities or marketing spend.
- Act as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for the MI system, seeking continuous process improvement to drive improved budgeting and forecasting.
- Create and maintain a major vendors’ central contract register for renewal tracking, cost efficiency and negotiation support purposes.
- Co‑ordinate the collection of technical and financial data required for R&D tax credit claims and accurately report on such.
Qualifications
We seek a high calibre individual who we envisage will ideally bring a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a commercial finance or FP&A role. Advanced excel-based financial modelling and broader ERP systems skills/experience goes without saying. Experience of database-driven BI tools will be highly advantageous. You could be newly/recently qualified, or perhaps be en-route, or perhaps QBE. However, as this is not a “hold-the-fort” role your personal traits will be critical. The role will grow and develop and will require continuous improvement, so we do need someone who can adapt and grow hand-in-hand. An individual who has a strong sense of responsibility, possesses drive and energy, and is confident presenting data to and liaising with both the SLT, and cross-functionally. These are the non-negotiables!
