We are seeking a skilled metal fabricator to operate welding and related equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: 2 to less than 3 years of experience
Work setting: Various locations: commercial, manufacturing, residential
Responsibilities:
- Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment
- Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals and processes
- Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
- Operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines
- Determine weldability of materials
- Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
- Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment
Equipment and machinery experience: Gas welding machine
Area of specialization: Custom fabrication, Structural construction, Fencing, balconies, stairs and railings
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding, Standing for extended periods, Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
