Dragon Automotives is one of the UK’s leading specialists in mechanical repairs, engine replacement, diagnostics, and fleet and insurance vehicle repairs. We work with major fleet operators, warranty companies, and insurance providers, carrying out specialist repairs on a wide range of modern petrol, diesel, hybrid, and commercial vehicles.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Vehicle Technician to join our expanding workshop team.

The Role

This is a varied position where no two days are the same. You will be responsible for diagnosing faults, removing and refitting engines, carrying out mechanical repairs, and ensuring every vehicle is completed to the highest standard. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Mechanical diagnosis and fault finding.
  • Engine removal and replacement.
  • Timing belt and timing chain replacement.
  • Clutch, gearbox, turbocharger and DPF repairs.
  • General servicing and mechanical repairs.
  • Using manufacturer and aftermarket diagnostic equipment.
  • Completing job cards and inspection reports accurately.
  • Maintaining high standards of workmanship and workshop cleanliness.
  • Working safely and following company procedures.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
  • Strong knowledge of modern petrol and diesel vehicles.
  • Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Own tools.
  • Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) preferred but not essential with suitable experience.

Desirable

  • Experience with engine rebuilds or engine replacement.
  • Hybrid or EV qualification.
  • Experience working with fleet or commercial vehicles.
  • Air conditioning certification.
