About the role

  • Carry out service and repairs on a wide range of Draeger Breathing Apparatus products and Accessories.
  • Repair and testing of various reducer and valve assemblies.
  • Repair and testing of all products within the Draeger Escape range of equipment.
  • Carry out cylinder recharging.
  • Repair and testing of all Draeger Self-contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) equipment.
  • Repair, testing and commissioning of telemetry systems.
  • Use of automated test equipment for fault finding and final acceptance testing.
  • Completion of all technical documentation relating to the repairs process.
  • Accurate completion of product test certificates.
  • Comply with internal quality standards.
  • Prepare technical repair reports as required by the customer.
  • Expectations are that customer contact will be required.
  • Flexible approach to other repair orientated tasks as required.
  • Provide occasional support to Field Service Engineers.
  • May be required to support activities in other areas of the Service Department.

  • Manager - Engineering Supervisor
  • Size of team/environment - Working directly with a team of 4 other repair technicians within a wider team of 26 people that form the Service Department in Blyth.

Your Qualifications

Role Requirements

  • Education/Qualifications: Minimum of three GCSEs at grade C or above (or equivalent) including English Language & Mathematics is desirable or proven work experience.
  • Related Experience: Experience in Service and Repair of a range of mechanical devices is desirable. Some electronics knowledge would be an advantage.

  • Good communications skills (Written and Verbal).
  • PC skills with good knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Customer focus with a positive attitude towards solving customer problems.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with customers.
  • Confident and able to work under own initiative.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team.
