About the role

  • Work closely within multifunctional teams, focusing on the introduction of new products from design concept, through to product release into serial production and the market place.
  • Create and agree a team Quality Assuramce stratergy for New Product Introduction (NPD).
  • Responsibility for Quality Assurance deliverables within the Gated workbook system.
  • Risk management: inputing risks and driving mitigating solutions on project risk registers.
  • Leading Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) on system,design and process.
  • Review product quality historical data and provide reliability predictions.
  • Take an active role in design and test reviews.
  • Record, track and manage Customer complaints using corrective and preventative action process.
  • Manage product / field risk assessments as required.
  • The tasks and responsibilities above are typical of the duties the postholder will be expected to perform. It is not necessarily exhaustive and other duties of a similar nature and level may be required from time to time.
  • The role is a fixed term contract for two years.

  • Working within a close team of 6 quality personnel, with a focus on quality deliverables during the New Product Development Phases and serial production.
  • Role Requirements

    Education/Qualifications

  • HND or Equivalent as a minimum in an Engineering discipline (Degree desirable).
  • Related Experience
  • Experience in a Quality Engineering role, preferably in new product development.
  • Regular use of APQP, PFMEA and PPAP would be desirable.
  • A thorough understanding of Engineering drawings & specifications
  • Skills, Special Competencies

  • IT Literate – Microsoft packages, SAP experience preferred but not essential.
  • Must be self- motivated with the ability to work without supervision.
  • Should be assertive and have excellent communication skills.
  • Should use logic and be data driven to make decisions.
  • Good team player with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Prepared to travel as required (UK & Abroad)
