About The Role

  • Co‑ordinate & direct the activities of a small team within the Medical Repairs Workshop.
  • Responsible for the delivery of high‑quality repairs & maintenance of customer equipment returned to the workshop for investigation and repair.
  • Meet customer expectations for repair of products returned to the workshop, ensuring all repairs are carried out in a timely manner.
  • Carry out Service / Repairs and pre‑installation commissioning on a wide range of Draeger equipment.
  • Ensure completion of all mandatory technical processes relating to repairs as detailed in test certificates and service manuals.
  • Correct input of all data into test certificates / calibration certificates / databases.
  • Creation of technical repair reports as required by the customer.
  • Communicate with customers as and when required.
  • Ensure completion of all service orders to ensure accurate quotation and invoice creation.
  • Ensure material requirements are entered onto service orders accurately.
  • Monitor stock of spares to ensure levels do not exceed individual targets, and to maintain stock accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements within the workshop always.
  • Ensure housekeeping is always maintained to a high standard.
  • Facilitate and organise initiatives with a view to improve workshop efficiency and safety.
  • Ensure adherence to COSHH requirements within workshop.
  • Create/update risk assessments for individual tasks within the workshop.
  • Address personnel & process issues as they occur.
  • Ensure safe handling of compressed gas cylinders.
  • Flexible approach to other repair orientated tasks as required.
  • Assist with Field Service tasks as agreed with Engineering Supervisor.
  • Create monthly KPI reports to enable performance monitoring.

  • To comply with the Business Information Centre (BIC) and minimise any impact on the environment whilst carrying out duties.
  • To ensure and promote safe working conditions for all employees, visitors, and contractors by implementing, monitoring, and complying with occupational health & safety provisions.

Reporting Relationships

  • Manager - Engineering Supervisor
  • Size of team/environment – Working as a team of four with line manager responsibility for the other three Repair Technicians, working in the Service & Repair workshop.

Education/Qualifications

  • HNC, Degree or equivalent in engineering related subjects.

Related Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years working within an electronic repairs/service environment, preferably with medical equipment.
  • Supervisory / managerial experience is required.

Skills, Special Competencies

  • A proven track record of providing customer care within a service industry.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise day‑to‑day activities.
  • IT literate with a good working knowledge MS Office applications.
  • Customer focused with a positive attitude towards solving customer problems.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both written & verbally.
  • Full clean driving licence.
