About The Role

To aspire to become a Repair Technician. Following the successful completion of the apprenticeship scheme a permanent position will be reviewed.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, testing & calibration of portable gas detection monitors.
  • Repair, testing & calibration of all impairment products.
  • Repair, testing & service of products used in conjunction with portable gas detection.
  • Repair, testing & calibration of Draeger Jaundice Meters.
  • Repair, testing & calibration of fixed gas detection components.
  • Contribute towards achieving repair turnaround targets.
  • Use computer software to upload & download data.
  • Completion of all technical documentation relating to the repairs process.
  • Accurate completion of product test & calibration certificates.
  • Comply with Health & Safety requirements and internal quality standards.
  • Understand and adhere to COSHH & Risk Assessments.
  • Prepare technical repair reports as required by the customer.
  • Providing technical answers and advice in response to customer queries.
  • Expectations are that customer contact will be required.
  • Flexible approach to other repair orientated tasks as required.
  • Provide occasional support to Field Service Engineers.
  • May be required to support activities in other areas of the Service Department.

  • To comply with the Business Information Centre (BIC) and minimise any impact on the environment whilst carrying out their duties.
  • To ensure and promote safe working conditions for all employees, visitors, and contractors by implementing, monitoring, and complying with occupational health & safety provisions.

Reporting Relationships

Manager - Engineering Supervisor. Working directly as one member of a team of 6, supported by the wider service department of 26 people.

Role Requirements

Education/Qualifications: GCSE Grade C or above in English, Science and Mathematics.

Related Experience: Desire to work in an Engineering role.

Skills, Special Competencies: Self‑Motivated, Methodical, IT literate, Ability to communicate, both written & verbal.
