Overview

As an international leader in medical and safety technology, Dräger develops pioneering devices, software, services and solutions that people around the world trust. This field-based account manager has sales and budget responsibility for the Detection and Protection product portfolio and will be expected to manage, retain, and grow business opportunities within the designated region. The sales region encompasses the Midlands.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively present and sell Dräger products and services to both new and existing customers, expanding the customer base and deepening relationships.
  • Develop and implement structured action plans to monitor progress, prioritize opportunities, and drive strategic sales initiatives.
  • Create customer propositions focused on delivering value and long-term benefits
  • Actively follow up on qualified leads generated through trade shows, marketing campaigns, and publications to convert interest into sales.
  • Consistently meet or exceed sales and profitability targets by executing focused sales strategies and aligning with business objectives.
  • Maintain, update, and validate all sales opportunities within the CRM system to ensure accurate forecasting and pipeline visibility.
  • Proactively manage the CRM funnel to align with sales targets and business objectives.
  • Monitor, assess, and prioritise upcoming tenders to capitalise on strategic opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal Dräger teams—including sales, service, project management, and engineering—to support the successful delivery of customer projects.
  • Partner with marketing managers to identify growth opportunities and execute targeted campaigns.
  • Coordinate with regional and global account managers to support and grow relationships with key customers.
  • Represent Dräger at seminars, networking events, exhibitions, and workshops to build visibility and capture market insights.
  • Take a consultative, solutions-oriented approach with customers, fostering internal collaboration to drive successful outcomes.
  • Demonstrate agility and decisiveness in a dynamic environment, ensuring responsiveness and flexibility in decision-making.

  • To ensure and promote safe working conditions for all employees, visitors and contractors by implementing, monitoring and complying with occupational health & safety provisions.

Role Requirements

Education/Qualifications

  • Degree educated in a technical discipline is desirable but not essential
  • Experience and proven track record of technical solution sales
  • Business to Business sales skills, preferably gained within the industrial safety market
  • Understanding of industry standards & regulations

Skills, Special Competencies

  • IT literate and knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to persuade and influence others
  • Ability to handle / solve conflicts by adopting a win-win approach
  • Good presentation skills
  • Ability to create and edit written material (customer communication, offers, etc.)
