Job Summary

The Social Value Manager will play a key role in developing and delivering the project’s Social Value programme, with a particular focus on Skills, Education and Employment and achieving the targets agreed with WSH Foundation Trust & the NHP (New Hospital Programme) framework.
The role will also be key in managing relationships with key stakeholders, local residents and businesses, achieving the business commitments and maintaining the project’s reputation.
The role holder will manage initiatives developed for the project / with WSH/NHP or contribute to projects managed by key stakeholders. The role will support the Project Director, the wider project in managing relationships with key stakeholders and in achieving the / project commitments and WSH/NHP Key Performance Indicators.

Key Responsibilities

Social Value

Manage projects and initiatives to deliver the WSH/NHP Plan and agreed project targets, particularly in relation to:
Schools, including through work experience programmes and T’ levels
Pre-employment programmes to support access to the labour market
Ensure that reporting on all SEE (Skills Education & Employment) activities is provided to WSH/NHP through agreed processes to quarterly deadlines and other ad-hoc reports on SEE performance.
Develop and build working relationships with local schools and FE / HE sector
Support the Commercial team to ensure that SEE requirements and targets are embedded in all subcontracts
Provide support, advice / guidance and training to sub-contractors to ensure that their performance contributes to the WSH targets, both in relation to SEE and Community Investment
Periodically update or inform the SEE process in project Quality Management System
Ensure that the Stakeholder Record Management system is regularly updated and provides a clear summary of current discussions with external stakeholders.
Lead community engagement & identify opportunities to deliver Community Investment in line with the WSH/NHP Community Investment Plan
Manage volunteering across the project team and sub-contractors
Work with the Communications Manager to create copy for communications including e/bulletins, newsletters and participate in updating community meetings.
Work with the Project Director in promoting fairness, dignity & respect on the Project and the Environmental & Sustainability Manager to ensure that supply chain is engaged with and involved in SEE initiatives
Regularly update the SEE team in the Dragados group companies.

Key Responsibilities:

Stakeholder Management:

Manage relationships with key stakeholders and communities for the project and deliver a programme of engagement as set out in the Local Area Engagement Plan and Works Information, co-ordinating with project teams and other contractors across the project as appropriate.

Manage and investigate complaints and enquiries received directly by the project or via helpdesk.
Ensure compliance/progress in achieving specific project commitments to engage with communities and stakeholders during the design and construction of the project, including provision of evidence of compliance.
Initiate & regularly update customised stakeholder / community / project engagement plans.
Support community investment activity and the development.
Delivery of the commitments contained within the Community Investment Plan to ensure that schools and young people are effectively engaged.
Advise the wider project team on the concerns of key stakeholders and communities and ensure compliance / progress in achieving our project commitments.
Chair, organise and manage meetings and working groups/forums and present updates on progress, facilitate regular and effective dialogue and address issues raised.
Write copy for community e/bulletins and newsletters.
Demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion promoting fairness, dignity and respect in the treatment of everyone engaged on the Project.
Build new relationships with local organisations and businesses particularly less well represented groups
Draft reports on specific community or stakeholder issues and risks as part of the monthly management reporting cycle.

Technical skills and Competencies:

Qualifications, Certifications and Experience:

Experience of SEE construction projects and programmes
Experience of major construction / development projects
Past experience of SEE projects & managing social value outcomes
Relevant experience of community engagement or stakeholder management
