Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain core areas of expertise and impart knowledge to aid the development and delivery of HSW within the project. Inclusive of acting in the context of a consultant to other parts of business in regard to the core expertise they can impart.
- Develop, establish and implement the project’s HS&W strategy for continuous improvement in all applicable aspects of HS&W Management ensuring alignment with client and project requirements.
- Provide professional advice to directors and managers, to assist them in achieving business objectives, advising and facilitating in a such a manner that operational leaders can make effective and confident decisions that positively improve HSW on the project (and beyond) and create net benefit to all stakeholders.
- Develop a team of technical experts and deliver a compliant, progressive and “best in class” service through diligent and effective use of that resource.
- Develop and apply tools and techniques, define business/project strategies and methods to initiate and/or implement change to improve HSW and business performance.
- Lead with a strong understanding of contractual and statutory requirements relevant to the project, and consistently cascade this knowledge to others, ensuring the project's integrity is safeguarded at all times.
- Create, develop and maintain an extensive range of internal/external relationships to maximise impact of expertise and knowledge to influence the quality of strategic decision making.
- Implement initiatives that ensure Euston’s HS&W culture continuously matures while ensuring that any identified poor behaviours are dealt with accordingly.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with MDJV’s supply chain ensuring that expectations are clearly defined, comprehended and continuously measured.
Technical skills and Competencies:
- Exemplary understanding of H&S standards and relevant regulation.
- Knowledge of H&S Risk Management.
- Able to undertake audits.
- Able to undertake incident reporting, investigation and associated event management.
- Able to undertake performance monitoring and measurement.
- Proven knowledge of construction techniques and their implications for safety.
- Demonstrable knowledge of all aspects of construction Health and Safety.
- Understanding of occupational health.
- Knowledge of behavioural safety techniques.
Qualifications, Certifications and Experience:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent working experience.
- Hold a qualification in Occupational Health and Safety; i.e. Diploma or NVQ.
- Chartered status within a relevant industry body (i.e. CMIOSH) or possess significant qualitative experience and/or be able to demonstrate a developed path to achieving chartered status.
- Proven experience working in a similar role in Health & Safety.
- Experienced manager.
