Dragados UK & Ireland is proud to be part of the Hospital 2.0 Alliance, a major £37bn collaboration between the New Hospital Programme, NHS Trusts and industry to deliver the next wave of Hospital 2.0. The alliance represents the most significant overhaul of NHS infrastructure in decades, adopting the Hospital 2.0 model to expand capacity, modernise construction methods and strengthen long term skills development across the sector.
The Commercial Lead oversees and manages the estimating, cost, procurement and contractual aspects of the project from initiation to close‑out on the hospital project.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise the client and project team on all commercial issues affecting the project.
- Oversee the development of contractual terms and conditions for suppliers and sub‑contractors and agree these with the client as necessary.
- Develop and implement the procurement and contracting strategy for the delivery of the project.
- Review and develop incentivisation arrangements as appropriate.
- Agree spend profiles which match the project schedule with the client.
- Oversee the reporting against spend profiles for the project on a monthly basis and coordinate with the Client finance department for payments.
- Lead the development and maintenance of the Incentive Target for the project.
- Oversee the change management process, consult with other functions to assess changes and risks to the overall project out‑turn.
- Manage the production of a monthly consolidated project‑wide cost / expenditure report.
- Deliver CAPEX and OPEX forecasts for the Project.
- Oversee the procurement of services relating to the Project and ensure that the supply chain strategy, policy and procedures are implemented.
- Manage the administration of contracts for implementation of the project.
- Oversee the monthly valuation process.
- Oversee the development of mitigation plans for potential contractor and supplier claims; manage the adjudication of claims and make recommendations for settlement.
- Oversee the finalisation of contractor’s accounts and close out contractor contracts for the project.
- Oversee the Construction Partners applications for payment and Early Warning Notices to the client.
Technical Competencies
- Expert knowledge of all aspects of commercial management.
