Job Summary
The Surveyor will work as part of the Surveying department providing engineering survey services to the Engineering and Construction departments.
They will report to the Survey Manager.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in surveying techniques, geospatial data collection, and a solid understanding of port and marine infrastructure projects.
The position will require working closely with engineers, architects, and the construction team to ensure accurate and reliable surveying data for the successful completion of the port extension.
Key Responsibilities
Site Surveying and Data Collection
- Conduct accurate marine surveys and provide detailed measurements of marine works, including setting out of piles, precast units, concrete, and setting-out jetty deck slab.
- Utilise the latest surveying equipment (e. g., Total Stations, GPS, drones, and laser scanning) to collect spatial data.
- Ensure all survey data aligns with project specifications, regulations, and standards.
- Prepare as built drawing for marine works.
Survey Analysis and Reporting
- Analyse survey data to provide accurate reports, including geospatial maps, alignment drawings, and site plans.
- Interpret survey data for use in the design and construction phases of the port extension.
- Prepare daily and weekly progress reports to communicate findings to project stakeholders.
Compliance and Quality Control
- Verify the accuracy of survey data, ensuring it meets the quality standards and requirements of the project.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and environmental considerations.
- Identify and resolve any discrepancies in survey data and take corrective action where necessary.
Survey Maintenance
- Maintain and calibrate surveying equipment and software to ensure precision and reliability.
- Keep detailed records of all surveys conducted, including equipment logs, data files, and reports.
Problem-Solving
- Address challenges related to surveying in complex environments, including tidal zones, water bodies, and terrain changes due to construction.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or professional experience.
