This role involves leading and managing the procurement and subcontract packages for Dragados Projects, ensuring compliance and coordination across Construction, Engineering, Logistics, Health and Safety, Environmental, BIM, Project Controls, Administration and Cost teams.
Job Summary
Lead and manage procurement of Civil Engineering works, Design, Surveys, Professional Services and Engineering subcontract agreements. Facilitate communication between cross‑functional teams to ensure compliance before procurement of any item.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure subcontract packages in accordance with Procurement Procedures.
- Coordinate and plan procurement of subcontracts, sub‑consultancies, materials, equipment and associated services.
- Liaise with Engineering and Construction teams on specification and technical matters.
- Assess Providers’ capability and competence against required standards and policies.
- Negotiate and place contracts in liaison with the Project Team.
- Develop strategies for managing Providers performance risk to enhance delivery of business objectives.
Qualifications, Certifications And Experience
- Demonstrate procurement delivery on projects of similar size.
- Assess subcontractors and suppliers’ ability to perform.
- Proven ability to manage teams, ensuring complete success on dedicated tasks.
- Experience in maintaining a diverse supply base.
- Experience in developing, implementing, managing and updating procedures.
- Have gained or working towards CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchase and Supply) or similar.
- IT literate, working knowledge of M365.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Good working knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations, Construction (Design and Management) Regulations and relevant legislation.
Technical Competencies
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience in a construction, commercial or related discipline.
- Good understanding of EU and UK legislative requirements affecting procurement, especially responsible procurement.
- Understanding of NEC3 Contracts and experience negotiating and drafting NEC3 subcontracts.
- Experience in procurement on major projects.
