The BIM Systems Administrator supports the BIM Systems Lead in managing and training users on collaborative platforms for graphical data sharing, such as ProjectWise (PW). They serve as the main point of contact for PW users and assist with data exchange through systems like Deliverables Manager (DM) and Aconex. The role involves configuring and developing digital tools (PW, DM, iTwin) to manage graphical data and metadata, while working closely with various departments to prepare and communicate design submissions. The coordinator ensures compliance with project Information Management Policies and contributes to the development and documentation of Digitalisation Use Cases. They also help build technical competencies across the project team through BIM-related systems.
Responsibilities
- Define, administer and maintain ProjectWise (PW), ensuring continuous operation of PW and support the implementation and improvement of Common Data Environment (CDE) processes.
- Manage CAD application integration assisting in configuring and integrating CAD applications within the CDE (e.g., Managed Workspace) across various software platforms.
- Support BIM/CAD standards application by working with the BIM Production Lead and team to ensure adherence to project documentation and BIM/CAD standards.
- Provide technical support for ProjectWise and the extended CDE to all project participants.
- Conduct training sessions on ProjectWise and Deliverables Manager to upskill the CP team, supply chain, and other stakeholders.
- Facilitate approval and review processes by managing approval, review, and acceptance of workflows.
- Help supply chain partners set up and manage their production environments within ProjectWise.
- Enable data exchange to facilitate interface identification, resolution, and design coordination and reviews.
- Assist the BIM Production Lead and BIM Coordinators in overseeing graphical data production from subcontractors.
- Collaborate with the Information Management Team to support the implementation of Digitalisation Use Cases.
- Work alongside the Document Control team to facilitate information exchange between systems and with client, stakeholders, and subcontractors.
Technical skills and Competencies
- Understanding and working use of BS 1192:2007.
- Working knowledge of ISO 19650 – Building Information Modelling (BIM).
- Working knowledge of design application software from vendors such as Bentley, Autodesk, Trimble.
- Knowledge of BIM and CAD Standards and workflows.
- Knowledge of ProjectWise application and/or configuration.
- Capable of providing training to others.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Well-developed IT skill including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
Qualifications, Certifications and Experience
- Holds a degree or equivalent qualification at HNC or HND level.
- Experience in 3D modelling and 2D Drawing production.
- Experience in ProjectWise administration.
- Experience in applying Clash detection and CAD/BIM coordination processes with Navigator or Navisworks or iTwin.
- Relevant experience in a similar role.
