Our Team and Role: Our team comprises sports modelling experts and data science technologists, coming together to develop innovative DS products that deliver incremental value on the Sportsbook platform at DraftKings. As a Manager, Data Science Engineer, you will be a proven leader, creative thinker, utilizing data, machine learning, and software development skills to craft high-impact solutions that grow the business. Responsibilities: Manage a squad of sports modellers as they develop, test and deploy sports models and sportsbook applications to production Take ownership for the design, development, maintenance and testing strategy of sports models Collaborate with business leads across Sportsbook and Engineering to define milestones and deliverables for new sports models or enhancements to existing models Contribute to the architecture and design of DS projects and strategic initiatives, focusing on quality, stability, and efficiency Mentor and lead design and knowledge transfer sessions, ensuring high-quality work from data science engineers Qualifications: Experience as a team leader on a data science or quantitative analytics team overseeing technical projects from development to deployment and monitoring Proficiency in at least one programming language, ideally Python, with understanding of object-oriented principles Experience building sports models, either professionally or as a passion project Experience with AWS services and infrastructure, preferably AWS ML tools Knowledge of DevOps practices, including containerization and monitoring Experience with Kubernetes and Kafka is highly desirable Understanding of Sportsbook products is an asset Excellent communication and organizational skills Degree in STEM fields (PhD, Masters, or Bachelor’s) Join Our Team: We’re a publicly traded (NASDAQ: DKNG) technology company headquartered in Boston.
