DraftKings is growing quickly, and we’re looking for a Senior Lead Software Engineer to direct our engineering teams and influence our product roadmap. This role involves collaboration across teams, informing business decisions, and finding creative solutions to scaling challenges.
What you’ll do as a Senior Lead Software Engineer:
- Take ownership of the design, development, maintenance, testing strategy, and operations of API services primarily in C# with SQL and NoSQL databases hosted in AWS.
- Collaborate with business leads to define milestones and deliverables for new functionalities on short timelines.
- Serve as the primary voice for the engineering organization on your team’s systems.
- Lead your team in design sessions, ensuring high-quality work aligned with DraftKings' engineering strategy.
What you’ll bring:
- Experience as an ‘expert’ on a development team, responsible for planning to delivery and management of features.
- Solid cloud-native experience with containerized microservices, data grids, auto-scaling, and managed infrastructures.
- Expertise in at least one object-oriented language like C# or Java.
- Strong relational database skills with MySQL or SQL Server.
- Familiarity with AWS services and infrastructure.
- Ability to write automated comprehensive test suites at all architecture levels.
- Experience helping scale a rapidly growing company is a plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting, real-time decision-making, and responsiveness to ensure a great customer experience.
