The Opportunity
We are seeking a proactive and motivated IT Technician to join our central Trust IT Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work across several schools, covering all aspects of modern IT facilities to support high educational standards. You will join a team with high levels of professional dedication, providing technical support to staff, students, and visitors. The role is hands‑on and requires travel between sites. Therefore, a valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle are essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Support: Provide high‑quality 1st and 2nd line technical support for desktop PCs, laptops, mobile devices, and software.
- Infrastructure Maintenance: Install, configure, and upgrade computer hardware and Windows operating systems.
- AV Management: Set up and troubleshoot audio‑visual equipment in classrooms and meeting rooms, including projectors and video conferencing systems.
- System Administration: Perform basic tasks such as Active Directory account management and password resets.
- Network Care: Assist with network troubleshooting, including Wi‑Fi connectivity and physical patching.
- Asset Management: Maintain accurate records of IT assets, software licensing, and equipment inventory.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations, including the manual handling of equipment like desktop computers and printers.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: A proven track record in 1st and 2nd line technical support, preferably within an educational environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Windows OS, MS Office/Office 365, and network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS).
- Soft Skills: A strong focus on customer service with the ability to explain technical issues to non‑technical users.
