Role Description The Bar Duty Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Morecambe, responsible for overseeing day-to-day bar operations during assigned shifts. This role includes supervising bar staff, organizing work schedules, and ensuring that all opening, shift, and closing procedures are completed accurately and on time. The Bar Duty Manager monitors stock levels, coordinates ordering and delivery, and ensures that all products are served in line with company standards and licensing regulations. The role also involves maintaining a clean, safe bar environment, handling cash and card transactions, and completing basic administrative and reporting tasks. A key focus of the position is delivering excellent customer service, resolving guest issues promptly, and supporting a positive, professional atmosphere for both customers and colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Experience in bar, pub, or hospitality management, including supervising teams and managing shifts.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle busy periods, respond to guest concerns, and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Knowledge of bar operations, including cash handling, stock control, health and safety, and licensing requirements.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate staff and work collaboratively with colleagues and management.
  • Good organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and reliability in completing procedures and record-keeping.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by bar operating hours.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory hospitality role is highly desirable; relevant certifications in food safety or licensing are an advantage.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform typical bar tasks such as lifting and carrying supplies.
