As a Bridging Underwriter, you'll play a crucial role in assessing and approving short-term loan applications secured on residential and commercial property. You’ll be responsible for managing cases from initial enquiry through to completion, ensuring that all loans are underwritten in line with risk appetite, policy, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Underwrite bridging loan applications from start to finish within agreed SLAs.
- Conduct detailed risk assessments on borrowers, assets, and exit strategies.
- Review valuations, credit reports, legal documents, and KYC/AML data.
- Liaise with brokers, solicitors, valuers, and internal teams to facilitate completions.
- Make sound credit decisions and present cases to credit committee where required.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure full compliance with lending policy and regulation.
- 2+ years of experience underwriting bridging loans or similar property-backed lending.
- Strong understanding of UK property markets and lending risk.
