To ensure thatthe reception area of the practice runs smoothly and provides the highestachievable levels of service to both patients and other members of the practiceteam including Doctors and Nurses.
Suitable candidates will be flexible, willing to cover leave andhave the ability to work as part of a team in a busy and dynamic environment.Discretion and experience of working with the public are essential.
Main duties of the job
Making appointments, Giving out results, Handling incoming mail, Greeting and directing patients. Responding to the needs of bothDoctors and Nurses during surgery. Health & Safety awareness(including handling samples),Inputting and extractinginformation from the practice computer system. General housekeeping e.g. keepingthe waiting areas and reception tidy. Preparing the consulting roomsprior to surgery. Scanning letters in patientsrecords on a daily basis and adding the appropriate read codes. Completing and sending referral letters and proformas. Actioning SystmOne tasks on a daily basis. Preferably SystmOne trained. Friendly and approachable.Computer skills. Good face to face and telephonecommunication skills, Ability to work under pressure andprioritise workload. A friendly team player.
