Position Summary
Cost Accountant â Dr. Oetker Canada Ltd., London, Ontario (UK). 14 Month Contract. Start date: 23/02/2026. Full time, temporary. Reporting to the Plant Controller.

Join Dr. Oetker's Pizza Production Team in London, Ontario. At Dr. Oetker, we pride ourselves on being a stateâofâtheâart, highly automated pizza production facility with a global presence. Our London facility, home to around 300 associates, features highly automated, highâvolume production lines crafting our wellâloved Ristorante, Casa di Mama, and Giuseppe pizzas. Our facility is part of the International Pizza Production Unit (PPU) which identifies projects and efficiencies for execution at plant level.
In our facility, we transform raw materials like flour and yeast into delicious pizza crusts, topped with savory sauce and fresh ingredients, before freezing and packaging them for retail distribution.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyse production costs of materials, labour, and manufacturing overhead to ensure efficiency and profitability.
- Prepare Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) variance analysis; investigate and resolve any errors or discrepancies, and highlight significant variances and provide explanations.
- Conduct profitability analysis and analyse cost structures for new products and projects, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain cost accounting system that ensures accurate costing in SAP.
- Work closely with production and FP&A teams to improve cost efficiency and support decisionâmaking.
- Support the monthâend and yearâend close process with accurate cost accounting data and reports.
- Assist in budget preparation by providing input on cost assumptions, plant fixed overhead, investment budgets and forecasts.
- Collaborate with crossâfunctional teams to gather and analyse financial and costing information and create detailed reports.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance cost management and operational efficiency.
- Provide backup coverage for Senior Inventory Control Analyst and Production Analyst.
- Develop and maintain Investment Management Program in SAP.
- Prepare internal orders, set up budget, settlement of AUC, and manage monthly reporting process.
- Prepare depreciation and Return on Investment (ROI) calculations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.
- Proven experience analysing data to identify patterns and trends and providing commentary.
- Proven experience using data trends to influence strategic business decisions and making informed recommendations.
- Strong knowledge with ERP system, SAP preferred.
- Advanced MS Excel skills.
- Able to communicate effectively with various organisational levels.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and inventory management.
