As our Talent & Career Development Manager, you’ll be part of the People Team working closely with brilliant people across the business and reporting into Global Head of Talent, Learning & Performance. You’ll be right at the heart of fast‑moving projects that shape how we show up for our consumers – today and tomorrow.

The Talent & Career Development Manager designs and delivers global approaches and solutions that enable career growth, strengthen succession pipelines and build critical capabilities across Dr. Martens. This role ensures that talent management and development is embedded into the employee lifecycle, supporting equitable progression and future readiness for our organisation. By partnering with HR, functional leaders and market teams, the role activates initiatives that drive engagement, retention and performance—critical enablers of our growth strategy.

Core Accountabilities
  • Defining and delivering global talent management and career development frameworks, including succession, potential assessment and equitable progression aligned to enterprise and People strategy.
  • Building career pathways and succession plans for critical roles, partnering with leaders and People teams to strengthen leadership pipelines and internal mobility.
  • Partnering with Talent, Learning & Performance teams to integrate development opportunities, career growth and high‑potential programmes across the organisation.
  • Leading talent systems, tools and analytics, ensuring scalable adoption, strong governance and clear KPIs to measure programme effectiveness, retention and internal progression.
  • Driving stakeholder engagement and change management for talent initiatives, equipping leaders and managers with the tools, communication and capability to support career development and adoption.
Key Skills & Capabilities
  • Proven expertise in designing and delivering global talent management and career development strategies with measurable organisational impact.
  • Strong capability in succession planning, leadership pipeline development and frameworks that support internal mobility and career progression.
  • Data‑driven mindset, using insights and metrics to measure effectiveness, inform decisions and continuously improve talent programmes.
  • Effective stakeholder partner and communicator, able to influence senior leaders and facilitate meaningful career and development conversations.
  • Inclusive and collaborative approach, ensuring talent frameworks and opportunities promote equity, diversity and accessibility across the organisation.
