Can you provide exceptional counselling skills and expertise across the organisation to pre and post bereaved persons both one-to-one and through group intervention via a range of delivery modes?

More about this role:

  • Lead therapeutic groups supporting those accessing our palliative care services.
  • Offer individualised support to patients with terminal and life limiting conditions.
  • Support carers and bereaved people in group and one-to-one settings.
  • Support the Wellbeing Centre Manager, and motivate colleagues, contributing to the ongoing development of the Wellbeing Centre and its activities.

Are you a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)?

If you have the ability to:

  • Provide exceptional counselling skills and expertise across the organisation to pre and post bereaved persons both one-to-one and through group intervention via a range of delivery modes.
  • Manage an active caseload of clients dealing with complex psychological and emotional issues as a consequence of a life limiting diagnosis or bereavement.
  • Identify and report risk or safeguarding concerns for vulnerable clients.
  • Respond appropriately in managing a crisis or emotional/psychological deterioration ensuring an effective plan of support and care is put in place.
  • Confidently use your own initiative.

We are now in our 31st year of caring for people with life limiting illnesses and we take great pride in the contribution we are able to make to the quality of life of our patients and their loved ones. At Dr Kershaw’s patients are at the heart of everything we do.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated and forward thinking team in a very special care environment. This role is all about supporting patients with terminal and life limiting conditions and their families, and supporting bereaved relatives and carers, and also about supporting staff members and contributing to the Wellbeing Centre.
