Job Overview

The candidate(s) will be appointed to provide highly specialised psychological assessments to patients experiencing symptoms of occupational-related trauma. The patient group will include employees of organisations that work directly in combative, hostile, and highly distressing environments. Candidates will be required to produce comprehensive outcome reports as part of the assessment process (templates will be provided). Candidates will also have the opportunity to provide treatments to patients using integrative, highly specialised, psychotherapeutic interventions, tailored to treating occupational, combative trauma.

Responsibilities

  • Provide highly specialised psychological assessments to patients experiencing symptoms of Occupational Related Trauma.
  • Provide comprehensive assessment outcome reports within 48 hours of patient consultation.
  • Provide highly specialised online psychotherapeutic interventions, tailored to treating occupational, combative trauma.
  • Provide advice to employers to support employees with mental health presentations.
  • Attend clinical and case management supervision 1 X month at a minimum.
  • Commitment to provide a minimum of 5 hours per week to Dr Julian Medical Group.

This is not an exhaustive list; you may be required to carry out other duties in the course of your role.

Aptitudes and Competencies

  • Ability to work with patients who continue to be exposed to highly distressing occupational environments.
  • Ability to provide a minimum of 5 hours a week to Dr Julian medical group.
  • Commitment to submit assessment reports within 48 hours of patient consultation.
  • Willingness to attend supervision 1X month (supervision requirements will be agreed upon depending on individual requirements).
  • Ability to adhere to all Dr-Julian in-house policies and procedures.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (ClinPsyD).
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Evidence of specialist training in psychological interventions for the treatment of PTSD/ Complex Trauma (e.g., EMDR).
  • Adult and Child Safeguarding Level 3.
  • Substantial experience in the assessment and treatment of combat trauma.
  • Substantial experience in working with patients experiencing occupational-related trauma.
  • Demonstrable evidence of ability to advise employers in the management of employee mental health.
  • Evidence of ability to provide comprehensive, high-quality clinical reports, that provide appropriate recommendations, based on sound clinical judgement and expertise.
  • Experience in providing online clinical assessment and treatment.
  • Demonstrable clinical expertise in one or more of the following areas: Military/ Armed Forces, Emergency services, Crime/ Criminal Justice System, Refugees/ Asylum seekers, Poverty/ Social deprivation, Terrorism.

Desirable

  • 3 years minimum post-qualification experience.
  • Adult and child safeguarding level 4.
  • Delivery of specialist trauma supervision – individual and/or group.

The role is subject to an Enhanced criminal record check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
