We dont follow trendswe set the standard for precision trust and operational impact.Job Description:As a Weather Risk Communicator you will work in a team of experienced meteorologists and communicators providing customers with insights to mitigate risk and support operational decisions. The Weather Risk job family is responsible for the investigation and interpretation of atmospheric phenomena and meteorological data to help customers manage risk. Activities include leveraging technology and datasets to deliver forecasts and insights to customers and send out alerts for special weather circumstances.This role will require the successful candidate to undertake shift work centered around the provision of detailed communications and monitoring for customer-specific activities. Alongside the customer-specific Risk Communication part of the role there may be occasions where you will work with the weather room teams in supporting other clients with all types of forecast provision.The job will involve 24/7 shift work but also requires some self-managed time based on customer requirements.What you will be responsible for:Undertake shift work providing detailed weather forecasts and risk assessments to customersConduct customer weather risk assessment workshops in person and virtually.Develop weather action plans tied to company products and services that generate best practice decisions during impactful weather events.Utilize emergency management best practices and deep industry expertise to recommend operating procedures that minimize customer risk from weather impacts.Evaluate existing threat matrices and trigger charts; provide recommendations on updates.What you will bring to the role:5 experience of forecasting and monitoring is preferableExperience of aviation forecasting4 experience of briefing large customer groups is preferableExcellent organisational and accuracy skillsAbility to set your own work scheduleAbility to work under pressure and to deadlinesNative or highly proficient speaker/writer in EnglishMeteorology or related degreeWhat you can expect from DTN:Hybrid work modelPension planLife insuranceUnlimited access to 13k courses via learning platform to support employee career advancementEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Compensation:The targeted hiring base pay range for this position is between 39000 and 52000 annually. DTN is a pay-for-performance organization which means there is the opportunity to advance your compensation with performance over time. The actual base pay offered for this position will be dependent upon many factors including but not limited to: prior work experiences training/education transferable skills business needs internal equity and applicable laws. The targeted hiring base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
