Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer the VP is a member of the Senior Leadership Group and plays a key role within the Commercial Team and Publishing leadership teams.This role operates within a highly collaborative matrix environment working closely with colleagues across publishing sales finance product and technology to align and implement the companys OA strategy. The VP leads a global OA team and oversees all aspects of OA revenue pricing agreements policy and innovation.We are looking for a decisive and results-oriented strategic thinker with strong analytical and financial capabilities.This role requires proven leadership experience in OA and scholarly publishing and will require a collaborative leader with a global mindset and strong business acumen. It is critical that you are comfortable navigating complexity and driving change in a dynamic addition your strong commercial acumen and experience managing complex budgets forecasting and revenue performance is essential.Key Responsibilities:Revenue Strategy Forecasting & PerformanceLead the development and delivery of OA revenue across the Springer Nature portfolio including FOA hybrid OA Transformative/OA publishing agreements and OA books.Open Access Agreements Business Models & Commercial GovernanceOversee the global pipeline of transformative and OA agreements ensuring alignment with strategic goals and financial sustainability.Provide strategic input and participate in high-value negotiations with national consortia and institutions acting as the senior OA expert.Inform APC pricing strategy and implementation in collaboration with pricing team ensuring competitiveness sustainability and equitable access.Drive innovation through pilot programs and strategic initiatives that support OA growth and a path to Open Science.Strategy Policy & Market IntelligenceDevelop and implement the companys OA business and transition strategy including mid-term planning and C-suite engagement.Represent Springer Nature as a thought leader in the OA space speaking as necessary at industry events and conferences.Team Leadership & Cross-Functional CollaborationLead inspire and develop a high-performing global OA team.Steer OA-related projects and systems development including commercial infrastructure and data enablement initiatives.Collaborate with product IT and operational teams to prioritize and implement OA capabilities that support scale efficiency and growth.To apply for the position please submit a CV and a cover letter outlining your key ambitions in the role.At Springer Nature we value the diversity of our teams and work to build an inclusive culture where people are treated fairly and can bring their differences to work and thrive.
