Whether you want a career that could take you to the top or simply take you in an exciting new direction HSBC offers opportunities support and rewards that will take you further.We are currently seeking a high calibre individual to join the Markets & Securities Services team in the role ofUK Tax ManagerIn this role you will:Assist with the delivery of UK Tax reporting for Life Tax clients as required ensuring daily; monthly and annual tasks / reporting are completed in a timely manner; effectively reviewed and checklists completed to evidence key controls have been adhered to.Assist with the delivery of UK Tax reporting for collective investment funds as required.Ensure attention to detail and strict adherence to departmental processes and procedures to minimise risk. Keep up to date with life fund tax technical and regulatory changes and assist with associated training within the Tax Team. Maintain an awareness of industry issues for Authorised and Life funds.Develop effective relationships with clients and external third parties ensuring that taxation issues/queries are resolved satisfactory within agreed deadlines and following established procedures.Coordinate services changes / new client implementations/ fund mergers etc. ensuring that they are managed effectively with minimal client disruption.Be proactive in interfacing with other functional areas to ensure that information / data flows are effectively maintained and any issues identified are resolved efficiently.Liaise with clients / internal departments in the development of new and existing tax reports or system enhancements to ensure effective and timely implementation.Oversee preparation of WHT reconciliations and query resolution.To be successful in this role you should meet the following:Professional qualification ideally ATT CTA or equivalent accountancy qualification.Ideally educated to degree level. Relevant financial services experience.Knowledge of ICON would be useful but not essential.Must show attention to detail. Excellent analytical and communication skills required.Team player with the ability to work with limited supervision. Comfortable dealing with client contacts and third parties.Ability to meet tight deadlines and assist colleagues throughout the business.Comfortable researching and disseminating technical knowledge to the team.This role is based in EdinburghOpening up a world of opportunityBeing open to different points of view is important for our business and the communities we serve.
