Being in the pool means you will be considered when opportunities come up.You dont need to be available to apply although we expect to have some opportunities coming up so if you are thats great. If not we will consider you when youre next free.If youre invited to work on Blue Peter you will need to be based in Salford for the duration of the contract or live within a commutable distance. Unfortunately we dont provide financial assistance for this or cover expenses.PURPOSE OF THE ROLE The worlds longest running childrens show Blue Peter is still inspiring children to be creative adventurous and inquisitive almost 70 years since it began!Each week the show features exciting challenges celebrities and activities. As Studio AP you will come up with ideas develop and pitch items and write the studio script alongside the Studio Producer.With a genuine enthusiasm for subjects ranging from arts & crafts to sport science nature and entertainment you will create content thats innovative entertaining and on trend speaking directly to our audiences about the things theyre interested in.WHY JOIN THE TEAM Working on one of the most iconic brands in British TV you will immerse yourself if in a wide range of exciting and topical content particularly digital first. You will see your pitches come to life work with high profile talent flex your development muscles and get to write 25-minute scripts.If youre an experienced AP who loves working with children and is interested in how they learn engage and enjoy themselves this is a brilliant opportunity to bring your skills passion and interests together in a fast-paced varied and rewarding role.YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT Generate ideas develop and plan engaging content for young audiences using strong editorial judgement Suggest and book contributors and high profile talent; engage with agents make compelling pitches and ensure guests resonate with our content and audience. Were especially keen on digital first ideas that utilise talent in this area.
