Are you ready to lead a team of talented engineers and shape the future of rail infrastructure? We are searching for a Signalling Design Verifier/Checker to join us here at AECOM working within the Rail Structures and Ground Engineering Team. Each team member has a development plan to provide a clear pathway to personal development and career progression. The team provides technical leadership of projects throughout the infrastructure lifecycle from feasibility, preliminary and detailed design stages. Our clients are many and varied from both the private and public sector and include custodians of the UK's Rail network, numerous local authorities and major contractors.

Here's what you'll do:

  • Provide design delivery support in day-to-day duties throughout the project lifecycle from inception to completion including verification of railway signalling designs, specifications and reports. Role may also include production duties applying first principles as required.
  • Ensure all deliverables verified/produced comply with company procedures, contractual and statutory requirements including delivery within agreed timescales and performance parameters.
  • Liaising and meeting with others including clients, stakeholders and external railway contractors.
  • Mentoring, support, guidance and development of junior staff.
  • Technical liaison with other team disciplines, departments and externally.

Qualifications:

  • Holds a current IRSE Signalling Principles Designer Licence (1.1.550) and Signalling Design Verifier Licence (1.1.160).
  • Substantial mainline signalling design experience including knowledge of UK railway standards, design processes and procedures at outline (scheme development) and/or detailed design stages of delivery.
  • Design verification experience across a range of project phases (outline, detail design), systems and technologies.
  • Evidence of a strong commitment to the delivery of signalling designs to the highest standards of safety and quality along with a clear understanding of risk assessment/hazard identification, management and mitigation throughout the signalling design process.
  • Preferred individuals in possession of a PTS (Personal Track Safety) certificate.
