Senior Cloud Operations Engineer | Azure

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Operations Engineer to drive the continuous enhancement of our cloud platforms. This role focuses on optimisation automation and the strategic configuration of monitoring and control systems to ensure operational excellence. You will serve as a subject matter expert and provide technical leadership offering best-practice guidance to our outsourced operations teams and helping shape the future of our cloud infrastructure.What youll be doing:Developing automation and tooling to streamline platform operations enhance consistency and reduce manual configurationLeveraging Azure-native and third-party tools to enable comprehensive logging monitoring and reporting of platform and service healthTesting and implementing innovative approaches to platform management and automation with a strong emphasis on Azure-native capabilitiesIdentifying and executing optimisation opportunities to improve utilisation performance reliability and cost-efficiencyApplying policy-based configurations and guardrails to ensure consistent standards and strengthen security and complianceGuiding outsourced teams by sharing expertise and ensuring adherence to internal standards and best practicesEnsuring effective cloud platform management to support the organisations strategic goals and uphold its consumer duty obligationsQualifications : Who were looking for:Direct hands-on technical knowledge of Microsoft AzureDirect hands-on technical knowledge of Windows and/or Linux serversAutomation and Config as Code Azure Automation Ansible PowerShell DSCLogging monitoring and observability tools particularly Azure Monitor / Application Insights / Dynatrace / New RelicSolid background in Windows and/or Linux server configuration and managementExperience with networking and web standards such as DNS HTTP proxies load balancers firewalls and WAFsGood understanding of security and compliance frameworksGood knowledge of ITIL best practicesWhatever your role we reward performance and behaviour with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you.
