Make your mark for patientsWe are looking for an enthusiastic Scientist to join our Protein Structure and Biophysics Group based in Slough UK. About the roleYou will be part of the Cryo-EM team within the Protein Structure Group providing integrative structural biology support to NBE and NCE discovery projects. Our on-site cryo-EM facility equipped with a Glacios Falcon 4i and two Vitrobot Mark IV together with regular access to Krios microscope is strongly positioned to support an evolving and forward-looking research environment. This laboratory-based position requires hands-on experience of cryo-EM microscopes. Who youll work withReporting to the cryo-EM Principal Scientist working alongside structural biologists and project teams in the UK US and Belgium.What youll doDesign and execute cryo-EM experiments encompassing sample optimisation sample preparation data collection data processing atomic model building and structure analysisOperate independently in-house Glacios microscope and external Krios microscopesProvide structural biology support to multiple projects while embedded in multidisciplinary teamsClearly communicate results in team and project meetingsMaintain accurate records of experimental proceduresFor this position we are looking for the following education and experiencePhD in relevant field (or BSc with 13 years of practical cryo-EM experience)Hands-on experience with cryo-EM microscopesDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot and optimize experiments Appreciation of early-stage drug discovery processExcellent organisational communication record-keeping data management and team-working abilitiesAre you ready to go beyond to create value and make your mark for patients If this sounds like you then we would love to hear from you!About usUCB is a global biopharmaceutical company focusing on neurology and immunology.
