The role involves supporting a 28 year old man. He requires full support in every aspect of his life as he has learning disabilities and complex health needs including epilepsy. Full and part time contracts available. Experience desirable although full training would be given to the right candidate. Day shifts availableand 10-8 including weekends with an hourly rate of 13.57. If you require any further information or wish to apply please send CV and covering letter stating what you can bring to the role to Main Tasks- weekend daysPersonal: Assistance in and out of bed Assistance getting dressed and undressed Personal care Assistance with washing and showering Checking skin condition and applying or changing dressings etc. Performing passive exercise to limbs General grooming and personal appearances Assistance with eating food and drink as well as peg feeding Preparing and administering medicinesDomestic: Preparing food and drinks House cleaning and helping to keep house hazard-free washing up cleaning and tidying work surfaces appliances etc. Laundry bed making changing bed linen Keeping medicines surgical appliances incontinence products creams ointments etc in an orderly hygienic and secure manner and Preparing these for use Put rubbish out for collectionSocial: Ensure that personal transport is ready to drive Assistance with getting to/from and in/out of transport Providing company and support outside the home e.g. with pushing wheelchair using toilets negotiating difficult places with steps etc. Load and unload wheelchairs and associated equipment into and out of transport Accompanying me to social events meetings appointments and on shopping expeditions. Generally helping to make trips outside the home go smoothly Enable me to carry out my chosen activity whether inside or outside the home by carrying out any other request that I may reasonably make.Main tasks- waking nightsThe main duty is to monitor me from another room while I sleep. This is via visual monitor Epilepsy alarm and NIV alarm. If i wake ensure I am positioned comfortably and covered with duvet.If epilepsy alarm goes off wake parent to deal with seizure and assist as required.If NIV alarm goes off adjust my face mask to stop leaks.Other tasks include completing household chores such as washing drying and ironing clothes.
