To evaluate new instruments and/or methods assuring correct reagent preparation and quality control information leading troubleshooting efforts and monitoring the performance of equipment maintenance. May perform apheresis and/or bone marrows or coordinate the education computer operations quality control/quality assurance duties and assume the supervisory function within a section as requested.Bachelors degree in Clinical Laboratory or a related field and one (1) year of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently credentialed as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) OR currently certified as a Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) required. Depending on the unit/department or if the position works directly with patients Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) may be required or required to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
