Recognized as one of Forbes Worlds Best Employers and named one of The Worlds Most Admired Companies 2024 by Fortune Labcorp is seeking to hire a Trained Phlebotomist to Lead our UK wide Human Volunteer Programme aligned with our Harrogate site.This position primarily involves the independent oversight of our staff Human Volunteer Programme and Phlebotomy Service (Blood Draws Programme) now combined in UK and Germany providing fresh samples from staff to all Labcorp UK sites and German Site on demand.The successful candidate will have previous Phlebotomy experience and be comfortable managing the training and supply of our internal phlebotomists external phlebotomy contractors and managing this process across our Labcorp sites in UK and Germany. Ensuring business unit compliance with global human research data protection legislation and Research Ethics Committee Approved Projects for the sourcing and use of staff sourced biological matrix is crucial to the success of the position.We welcome applicants seeking full-time hours and can offer hybrid working*.*Please note applicants must be able to commit to being present on-site as a phlebotomist the following days/hours as a minimum. Other hours may be possible from home office:Monday 08:30 12:30Tuesday 08:30 12:30Friday 08:30 12:30Duties Include:Enabling routine supply of staff sourced fresh whole blood matrix to support Lab service offerings to clients as appropriateResponsible for overall administration and management of staff matrix Human Volunteer Programme (HVP) at Harrogate Huntingdon and Muenster sites for 150 donors across 12 user departments. This includes resource management of indirect phlebotomist teams blood draw facility organising blood draws maintaining confidential donor database and processing the donor payments each month.Managing sourcing of staff sourced matrix from consenting staff donors for use by the business to include: blood urine faeces sputum buccal cells as requiredWorking cross-functionally with all relevant parties (e.g. project management study direction operations regulatory and Occupational Health) to resolve HBS related issuesProviding resource management training and competency of 20 phlebotomists occupational health facility organising blood draws maintaining confidential donor database in support of the HVPPerforming all aspects of the venepuncture procedure and where possible plasma collection including procedure room and kit set-up donor monitoring and room maintenance management. Performing venipuncture on donors using suitable methodology for volumes required evaluating vein performance of the donor to identify possible problems; making necessary corrections in order to expedite donation time and ensure product quality and donor safety collecting whole blood samples for testing monitoring donor for any reactionPerforming Informed Consent appointments with prospective and active donors as requiredEducating new donors on the use of donated HBS. Consents donors. Providing information to answer any queries as requiredExplaining the process the tests the appointment system proper hydration and other information pertinent to the donor. Answering donors questions timely accurately and professionallyPerforming accurate and timely update and maintenance of donor databases and specimen information logs as requiredDocumenting any donor issues or incidents that may impact donation of materials maintaining confidentiality of all personnel donor and HVP informationMaintaining ability and skill set to manage the process for donor recruitment management scheduling and sample collectionDeveloping a working knowledge of the requesting departments / business units requesting staff sourced matrix and is able to apply that knowledge to ensure complete requests are made and process followed to deliver matrix requiredFollowing up on outstanding matrix requests for resolution to meet internal and external client deadlines and to minimize business and legal riskIncreasing regulatory oversight of all activities that may impact safety quality identity integrity and security of any HBS collected processed and shipped from the HVP SiteWorking to ensure the HVP operates in a state of compliance with all written procedures national and international regulations as applicablePerforming site inspections on a regular basis and accurately report all findings.
