3 Month Contract with a local AuthorityJob PurposeThis role will focus on delivering systemically informed consultation formulation and direct therapeutic work with children young people (aged 8 17) and their families. The aim is to strengthen relationships build resilience and reduce the risk of family breakdown or escalation to care proceedings. The postholder will work with families where children are subject to safeguarding concerns child in need or child protection plans or are on the edge of care as well as those returning home from an episode of care. Key Duties/AccountabilitiesContribute through the delivery of systemic therapeutic and clinical interventions to the Supporting Families vision for children to remain at home when it is safe to do so.To also contribute to the department s Restorative Practice approach respond to and provide for the needs of children and families within statutory children s legislation and in line with the Department s policy and practice principles.To deliver a consistently high standard of service that meets the needs of Tower Hamlets diverse communities contributing to quality assurance and monitoring and auditing of the service provided by the team and departmentActively contribute to the council s priorities and outcomes in a way that promotes a one organisation approach.Develop and maintain positive relationships with colleagues stakeholders and communities to ensure the council and the directorate strategic priorities are effectively implemented.To work within the context of statutory child protection social work and contribute to the assessment of risk and protective factors in cases where the children are at risk of harm. To actively attend meetings in relation to child protection and to be able to offer an informed view as required.To maintain and apply sound up-to-date knowledge of research findings childcare legislation statutory guidance and policy developments relevant to child development child abuse and neglect and disseminate across the service.Manage a varied caseload and offer specialist systemic assessments and direct work and to support with complex cases referred to the Edge of Care Team in order to formulate and implement intervention plans.To also specifically support the emotional wellbeing of children and young people referred to the service. Essential Experience Required.Experience of using family therapy or systemic interventions with children adolescents and families in children s safeguarding setting. Essential Qualifications RequiredMasters level qualification in Family & Systemic Psychotherapy UKCP registration is essential.A recognised social work qualification and a current registration with Social Work England.
